Default Diablo Tune

Hi,
I have a 2007 Mustang GT and installed a C&L CAI with a 92 octane tune using the Diablo Predator tuner. I also installed axleback Corsa exhaust and that is the extent of my power adders. I would like to know if I can fine tune the air/fuel mixture using the Predator tuner? Someone told me that I could increase the it so much without damaging the engine. But looking at my manual for the tuner is confusing. They say to do this at WOT but wide open throttle means nothing to me. Can someone explain to me how to do this and is this wise to do.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with the Diablo but I'd suggest not fooling with the A/F unless you really know what you're doing. Are you running a custom tune or is it the canned tune that came from Diablo? If it's the later, then you really should trash that and get some custom tunes. Unfortunately, AM & Brenspeed are 2 of the best tuners but they only support the SCT.

Hey Rick,
Thanks for your suggestions. Yes I believe it is the canned tune that came with the Diablo Predator tuner. I had a guy customize my car in Florida and the tune was one of the customizations. So I am assumming its the canned tune. Its too bad that my tuner is somewhat obsolete because it was almost $400 at the time back in 2007. So I guess I need to get the SCT tuner and then order a custom tune from Brenspeed. Do I need to put the car back to stock when installing and then install the custom tune from Brenspeed? Not really sure what to do but I am not a complete idiot so I am thinking I can do this myself. Or do you suggest have someone at a shop do it for me? Also can you tell me with the custom tune using 92 octane what kind of HP and TQ increase I may get.

Thanks,
Rob

It's all simple plug-'n-play. Return the car to stock with the Diablo before reloading a tune from an other tuner. But check around. You may be able to find someone that writes for the Diablo. If I recall, Brokspeed (sp?) was mentioned.

Thanks Rick. Any idea on the increase of HP and TQ after a custom tune?

The diablo's canned tunes are already adjusted for your CAI if you got it from C&L with the CAI. I'm not sure if there's any benefit from changing the a/f settings further. Definitely other settings can be adjusted to give you a boost but I'd only mess with them if you're 100% sure you know what and why you're changing.

As far as the custom Diablo tune you could find a local dealer or like Nuke said http://www.brooksspeed.com/

If so, that's news to me. I thought AM was only supporting the SCT.

I am not 100% sure about new customers but I do know they support existing bama customers with the diablo. I have a diablo and they sent me new tunes for my cams.
