I'm torn on the 6060 vs 3650. I have no doubt the beefed up 3650 will last. I don't want a taller 1st gear and I could give a crap if I have a 6th speed. However if the 6060 is really that much stronger than the 750 rated 3650, maybe it would be worht it to me. I already have an RST clutch. All I would need to do is send it in to have the discs rebuilt and 26 spline hubs put in. The DS, yeah I know I need one. So for me I think the following, unless I learn differently in the future.

Send 3650 to Promotion $100 plus $1690+600 for DS and ~$300 for disc rebuild. Looking at around $2700.

Or

A built a 4r70w with transbrake and all the goodies. 5k. And probably a full second off of my current quarter mile ET. Turn the PSI up to 20 at the track on 100 oct and make 650 rwhp. Run around 500rwhp daily driving.
When I had called Liberty and wanted my 3650 beefed up they said the 26 spline shaft and shift forks were the best things that could be done to it. I wanted the gears peened and polished and they pretty much said that the 3650 is a good tranny but it's just not worth it to put money into the gears. The difference between talking to them and promotion was night and day. BTW pm gets their 26 spline shafts from liberty gear.

I looked at an auto too. The deciding factor for me was how driveable is it going to be with a high stall converter? Sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision. We may start to see the new auto used in the 5.0 being beefed up and offered for our cars. People have talked about it, I'm waiting for an aftermarket company to bring it to market.

I tend to believe what Liberty says, but I am also skeptical because they have a dog in the hunt and want to sell something. I feel more comfortable buying a 3650 or deciding on a 6060 after speaking to some people with built units and seeing their overall impression. I wonder what power these things are being ran at and how much abuse they are recieving at the track.

As far as a convertor in one of the 4r70w's. I think something in the 3000-3500 range would be the MAX for a mostly street driven vehicle. Neither you or I would need anything higher than since we make so much torque at low RPMs.

I don't know. We will see. I'm going to the track tonight. Maybe I will blow the tranny and have to really make a desicion.

A little off topic but I looked up the DA for tonight at my track, -94' at 11 PM. Best air I have ever had the chance to race in.

I think my biggest problem is my 2-3 shift. I concentrate and have gotten so fast and good with that shift that I forget I'm driving the car. I actually take my eyes off of the track and I think I pull the wheel a little bit which causes me to get out of shape durring the shift.

My first pass I got loose in the 2-3 shift.

Second pass loose on 1-2 with a 1.63 60'.

3rd. Easy off of the line with a 1.77 60' and granny shifted to 12.0.

4th. Easy off line and granny shift to an 11.90 @119. This was with no ice and a warm intercooler water. So generally I gain 4 mph with the ice.

5th. Same as the 1st pass.

If I hadn't paid my money I would have left. It was a stupid cluster. I have a video I just have to upload it and post it.

-94' that's hilarious! I know the conditions are like that once in a while down here since we're only 17' above actual sea level but I've never been to the track in conditions like that!

The best I had ever been in before that was 1800'. Veyr disappointed in the disorganization of the track and the condition of the track.

the local track here is rarely prepped very well either, they're organized pretty well though. we'll get good conditions pretty regularly especially in the winter but it's rare to see guys really hook off the line.
