What is considered "normal" oil consumption?

Yes, the Owners Manual DOES say 6 quarts. Anyone that does an oil change and only assumes how much to put in is a douche. All the more reason not to allow anyone to touch your car and to do your own oil changes.

Keep watching it. I've always kept close watch on all of my vehicles. We depend too much on them not to.

So you only got blue smoke on one start up or every start up. If its every start up I would suspect bad valve guide seals
