living on campus next year at college so all summer and school year the money i make will go to me which will go to the car cuz ill have basically no expenses so i mean i can understand that getting a gt in the 05-10 years could be possible but pitching the idea to the parents is the only thing that im scared of. i feel like if i put about 2500 down in april i can have the car before high school ends to get a last year send off ha but if i can pay it off soon the idea might stick a little better with the parents

IMO an 03-04 Cobra would be the best bang for the buck. It already has a forged motor which means you can crank the power up safely.

If you get a S197 get the GT. In fact I'll share something I've learned with cars. Take the time to get what you want the first time and you will end up keeping it. If it means waiting to save more money then wait.

If you're still in college, and you can't do the monthly payments, then DON'T go out there and just buy a car you can't afford. Trust me! Having a s197 gt is great...only if you can afford it, though. IMO a college student doing monthly payments on a car is one of things that might make you struggle in college and you really don't want that. At all.

If you can afford it, only without monthly payments, I'd suggest the s197 gt. If you dong care about power but you can outright buy the car, just looks, then the s197 v6 will fill your needs. But at the same time, there's nothing wrong with a 01-04 Gt. IMO theres a night and day difference from a 04gt and a 05 v6. If The 04 gt can be bought without any monthly Payments, then I'd suggest going that route if you care about speed too.
I could never recommend a v6 over a GT ever... I think you'll always be kicking yourself in the butt.

But remember, only do what YOU can afford. If you're in college, dont fall for the trap of having an unneeded car payment! Trust me. Good luck!
