Detriot rocker cams and 3.55 gears
Has anyone used this combination with success? I know they recomend lower gears, but I highway drive often. I already have CAI brenspeed 93 tune, LT headers, Catted H pipe, 1 piece aluminum driveshaft, Hurst billet shifter. I am buying the charge motion delete plates when I buy the cams. Changing gears is not soething I really want to do but if its that big of a performance gain I will, just worried about rpms at 75/80 for a long period of time. What do you all think?

I don't know about the cams with the gears,
But being a recent convert to a 4.10 gear (had them put in this morning), at highway speeds I was still averaging 22.5 - 23.5mpg. You lose mpg big time when you start romping on it.
The 4.10's really wake it up, a lot.
Hope it helps.

Well,
I started having traction issue after the FRPP CAI and 93 race tune from Bama.
1st gear winds out real quick but as soon as you hit 2nd, it's all good,
If I stomp on mine in first, the wheels will break loose/hop a little. Nothing I can't handle and I hope to resolve that in 2 weeks.

I have Detroit Rockers with 3.55s and the car still drives like stock. You may have a little more low-end torque loss with the long tubes, but I think you will be fine.
Definitely do the CMDPs when you do the cams. I picked up a little more torque down low when I finally got down to installing them (cams were installed first) and the drivability also improved.
The 3.55s are perfect if you do a lot of driving over 75 MPH. Revving over 2500 RPMs on the highway will get annoying on a long trip, but the 3.55s will keep it under 2500 as long as you are running under 85 MPH.

I lost a lot of low end torque with those cams. My car with 4.10s would not even spin the tires from a stop. Sad thing was it would do this when it was completly stock. CAI, tune, D rockers, longtubes and 4.10 gears and I couldnt burnout!! Thats bullsh#t IMO.....The m90 cured that problem! LOL

wow, I'm glad to see some feedback on these cams. I'm about to buy some here soon along with Pypes headers and H pipe. I was seriously concerned about running my stock 3.55 gear also. I might eventually install 4.10 but I will definitely be getting my car dyno tuned after I get the cams installed.
