Just changed the "dreaded" sparkplugs
#21
Okay so now that I see another success story I think I am gonna have to do this myself as my car has only 21000 miles on it and I have heard that the sooner you do this the better. What plugs did you use to replace the old ones? Are there any performance plugs for our cars?
Yes do it NOW!
Save the trouble of worrying later!
Unless you are going F.I., stick with the Champions

Brisk is the only 1 piece FI application plug I am aware of.
P.S. how is your idle with the cams now? did you ever get that resolved...?

I did get it resolved. Had a slight TINY hunt after but it was not noticeable.
All it took was a good tuner which I found at HPP Racing. Guy was awesome and fixed it in 5 minutes.
Not only that but he squeezed out 12 more HP and 14 pounds of trq.
Of course it was on a different dyno but I could def. feel a gain.
Check my sig at the bottom though bro!
My baby is gone and I replaced her with a GT500! A better baby lol!

That was what I was thinking, better now and hope none break because I have heard that if the dealer breaks one he charges extra?!?!? WTF how can this be right if they break one or two they should just fix it,it wasnt our fault that they designed a crappy plug!!! Also are the champions a 1 pc. plug?

What is the 1 pc. Champion plug number for normally aspirated? I bought mine with 62,000 on it and it has 70 something on it now and am about to embark on the plug change adventure. I have no idea the history as far as plugs go, but I am guessing they are the originals.
Thanks!
Thanks!

the dealership didnt design them either, techs dont work for free.
design sucks, i know. but 50 years ago everthing was built for crap. if you made it to 50,000 before a major engine repair you were lucky, and 100,000, time to put a new motor in. so if you compare it to the past, changing poorly designed spark plugs that last 100,000 miles is still not too bad.

Did mine this morning and I had nightmares about it all last night lol. It went pretty smooth except for cylinder 4, 5 and 7...they were seized pretty good with 42k on the clock. If I had to use more than my finger tips to turn the ratchet I stopped and resprayed some PB blaster...after a few minutes i'd start again.
Thanks for all the threads and links to the TSB about the plugs..I would've been up the creek without them.
