2006 GT Auto to Manual swap
I really wanted a manual when I was purchasing a new car, and when i found the one I own now I just had to have it, got low miles for a good price. The Automatic really doesn't bother me that much as it's got a shift kit, gears, and tuned. But the thought is still always in the back of my head. I know it's an expensive endeavor but I have alot of friends who are mechanics/ gear heads and would help me out with the install/collection of parts if i asked them too for a pretty cheap amount. Just curious if there is a write-up on parts needed/ the whole process being done just so i can have as much information as possible before bringing it up to some friends.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Swapping from manual to auto is frowned upon due to the electronics involved but swapping from auto to manual may be easier. I really haven't seen a write-up on it, though.

Mine is an auto now, and I know it won't be a project happening right away it will be in collection for a while if I do decide to do it. I thought i saw one somewhere but I've been searching the threads and can't seem to find it. If anyone knows any info on it (preferably an 06, that way i can know EXACTLY the information i need) that would be extremely helpful. If i do decide to do it i will make sure to document the whole process/ parts lists & costs and make a write up/info guide of my own for anyone looking to do it in the future.

C'mon, guys, it's not that bad of a swap, nor that "expensive", relatively-speaking and depending on what you end up spending on the parts.
Yes, you need the transmission, clutch, flywheel, shifter, etc., plus clutch pedal and hydraulics, and possibly a different-length driveshaft. The 'electronic' part of it involves either using a different engine wiring harness + PCM, or retuning your auto PCM to ignore the auto trans functions.
You should be able to find all the parts for $1000-1800. Labor would come into the picture as well, unless you do it yourself (then it's just time and cuts n bruises, lol!).
