Is it ok to abuse Cruise Control?

With the CC set and "ON", maintaining your speed, you can raise or lower your speed by pressing the "+" or "-" buttons. Each press of those buttons changes speed by 1 MPH. There's no need to tap the brakes to change speed unless you need drastic changes.

well there is the slower (whatever its labeled) button you can press to let of a few but its reaction is a bit slow

and ya that smart CC is crazy (I think it lets you pick the following distance though but don't know as I wouldn't use it if I had it

and then theres the auto brakeing that some have (um what if a bird flys infront of you at just the right distance to fool it

I find CC kind of useless as I was going to use it for school zones but 20mph is to slow to turn it on (minimum speed and all)

I really don't think that the random need to slow down slightly is a digital thing that you'd even think about in terms of 1 mph increments.

"+" and "-" let you keep your foot on the floor or even under the pedals while following speed limit changes (or strictness of enforcement, for that matter). Those are not places where I want my brake foot to be while I'm driving, but I digress . . .
