Will do. Back to one of my earlier questions. Is it worth tuning to high octane ? Gas is expensive here about 5$ per gallon regular 15%more for premium. Mid grade is inbetween. I might order my tuner in the new few days

It usually is yes.
See if you can get three different tunes for each octane level.
Test each one out and see which you like the best.
Some people find out they like say an 89 over a 91 though and feel more power down under on a lower grade tune.
It just depends on the tune.

yeah, wish I could answer this more geniuinely.. but getting the 3 different tunes is definately the option to go with.. Its how I started out.. with CAI & 3 tunes from BAMAchips (AM BAMA now) but with FI.. you gotta go 92 or better.. and even though I had lower tunes (I called them emergency tunes in case I was out traveling and couldn't get 93) I never used them.. Shes blessed to have never seen anything other than 93 octane in her... me personally, I'd skip a meal and use the money on higher octane before I'd put the lower stuff in.. but thats me.. and shes not my daily driver..

but from everything I've read or know on the subject, yes there are bigger improvements with better octane.. I mean why do race-fuels go up to 120+.. more power..

What's involed in switching fuels. Do I gotta run my car right empty or just getting it low is good enough ?

well, they do average in your tank.. and going down is always easier then coming up.. so half a tank of 92 and half of 90 will net you full of 91.. and they do make octane boosters (which I can only assume work) and lower tunes will work with higher octanes...

but I guess to answer your question, just getting it majority low would work well enough.. you'd have to stagger your tunes when bringing it up.. I don't know what the tolerances of these tunes are.. I mean you might have some rough running for a few miles before any lower stuff gets out of the way...

my thought would be to pick a tune and octane you're comfortable with knowing that you can always put it in there - regardless of octane available & $ available..

again.. I'm no expert on this, nor claim to be.. so anyone with more experience doing this plz chime in..
