Default What axle ratio to run?

I live in Germany and use it as a DD. What axle ratio does everyone recommend?

I personally am running 3.73's. Others will tell you 4.10's. I think a lot of people will tell you to go with 3.73's if you plan on going FI. If not they say 4.10's. I think that 3.73's are a good DD gear. Not bad on the MPG and plenty of get up and go when you need it.

+1. Lower gears than 3.73s will not make it accelerate faster on street tires. But if you plan to take it to the track and use Slicks, then something lower could work for you. Unless you like tire smoke. Then by all means, go with the 4.10s.

Auto or manual trans?

Do you drive at speeds of 70mph and higher a lot?

I really liked 4.10s in my 06 manual, but I didn't need to drive at high speeds very often. If I did it would have been 3.73s all the way. Cusp is right on the traction issue with 4.10s

Do you guys have speed limits in germany, and what are they?
What's your current gear?
I would stay with the 3.73 if I could run it at high speeds without popo intervention

If you're running high speed on the Autobahn, then you cdertainly do NOT want 4.10's. Even the 3.73's might be a bit much for steady 100+ cruising. Bu then, ANY gear, even the 3.31's, will suck fuel at engine RPM's over 2500.

First, you need to decide your primary mission. Any suggestions are crap without knowing what you want to achieve.

Drag race?
Highway cruise?
Road course?
jammed freeways?

HIghway cruise between 80-100 whatever will give me the best MPG. I reset it today to 91 octane and 3.73 AGR. I was seeing between 24 and 27 which was great but for some reason dropped to about 22-23...

What are the rest of the details on your car?

V6 or V8?
stick or auto?
current rear gear?
stock wheels & tires?
