When I start car I can hear it, under the hood around passenger valve cover area, hard to tell where it's coming from exactly. Almost sounds like loud fuel injectors going to town... Has a sound like that... May be small exhaust leak around flange and factory manifold. OR X pipe with boom tubes, hard to hear when the famous high pitch exhaust kicks in. While driving low rpms you can hear, let of gas nothing. I know this is vague but, anyone expierence anything similar? I have the certified 100K warranty for 2 more years but, do I want to put factory mid pipe back, remove airbox and tuner? Maybe I'm just listening too hard, wifey says turn up radio haha

Ive read about this on other forums, seems to be somewhat of an issue thats hard to pinpoint from what I can tell.... PM will be sent.

i'm having the same noise. not sure what it is but i pulled the valve cover off today and of course it didn't tap at all.

Mine ended up being an exhaust leak where midpipe connected to manifold.

Are you sure it's not the normally abnormal S197 injector tick? There's a TSB on it that implies if you can hear your stereo at full blast over the ticking, that's normal.

Yes, injectors are loud. Mine was exhaust leak for sure! Previously, I could hear it banging over the O/R X and boom tubes... now with factory midpipe it's nice and quiet with no rattles.
