Default ram air causing engine to surge and die

I just installed a GTS-4 Hood on my 2006 GT w/ Steed CAI - and the ram induction is throwing off my MAF sensor and causing my engine to surge or die when I let off the throttle. through some other threads I've gotten suggestions to deflect the air so it does force itself down the throat of the CAI. does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about doing this? I've spent alot of hard earned money on this car so I'd like to keep it professional looking as possible - i do understand it will be a jerry rigged job though... right now i have a peice of card board blocking the duct above the CAI.
