Exclamation Help! Rpms freaking out! vid attached!

Hey when ever i start my car On a cold start up (this is cali so its never super cold out) it does this when i drive or rev the motor.
When i Start it and start driving almost right away it is freaky because when the rpms it does it for a few seconds just like in the vid and obviously is a little freaky when its doing it on its own and lashing you forawrd.
It goes away after it seems to warm up. but it never did this before.
Is it the throttle body???
what should i do?
thanks all!

Seemed like it was cammin'. Was that initial blip of the throttle you or the car doing it itself?

I'd clean the TB and MAF for starters, then reload the tune if it still occurs. Since it only happens for a few seconds on the initial start, I think it's pretty minor.

The initial one is me.
Alright I'll give that a shot. Sounds plausible my air filter was a few weeks past due on cleaning last time I cleaned it.

Yeah definitely clean TB. My car did this until I started to clean TB/MAF regularly. I would take the TB all the way off the car when you clean it. If you do it this way make sure when you unplug the connectors on the left and right of the TB that you wait til they stop making noise (you should be able to hear some whirring noise pretty easily after you plug it back in) before you turn the car on or it will go in to limp home mode and throw codes. I learned the hard way that it's the throttle position sensor that you are unplugging and turned the car on before it was done re-calibrating... it started up but was revving itself and throwing codes... scared the crap out of me.

You could always not take it off but it's hard to clean the TB with the butterflys in the way. I use to take a long screw driver to hold them open while I cleaned it.

I recommend the following products:

CRC Throttle Body & Air Intake Cleaner: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...2382&ppt=C0126
CRC MAF Cleaner: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...rd=maf+cleaner

And dump the TB spacer while you have it off and before you get railed for having one...

You have an aftermarket tb? That could be it, these cars are VERY picky about Throttle bodies. Also while your cleaning, the MAF should also get a cleaning with electrical contact cleaner or maf cleaner.

Also I have noticed as my car ages it seems to take longer to go into closed loop on start-up, could be aging 02 sensors or maf or a combination of both. Good luck.
