Default Forge It or New Engine?

Well, I'm one of those guys that likes to make a flexible plan years in advance and I was wondering...

Would it be better to forge my engine, or just buy a crate engine that is already forged?

Thanks!

I vote for a built short block, unless you're really dead set on forging via a forged rotating assembly. Either will still cost about $2,450+ in gaskets/fluids/bolts etc.

If I were you, I'd do a Brenspeed 302 short block and then save up for a supercharger kit.. I recommend either a TVS or Twin screw..

I'm in Greenwood - off I65 about 10-20 minutes South of Indianapolis

Eventually I plan on going FI as I've mentioned, so I need her forged.

@ Stealth

Thanks for the tip on that - I'll get looking and pricing

No problem..

there were things I wish I had known when I first started modding back in 08..

I would have done things A LOT differently

I very strongly recommend the B302 from Brenspeed as it has preat reviews and from personal experience I love it. Be careful of thing you might not need need such as timing chains and rockers etc. I bought the whole shibang only to have my mechainc tell me I didnt need the extra 1300 worth of parts. you still might need them though...Im just saying I didnt

Yeah, I don't know why they recommended new cam phasers either, since with a cam swap you do not need new ones. Weird.
