Do I need a tune
#2
imo, the short answer is no and it should start just fine.
just be prepared for the possibility of an erratic idle and maybe even
dying when coming up to a stop sign. just take it easy and don't get
on it hard, cause it might be running a little on the lean side.

Do not need a tune BUT a tune can gain you some HP with them and also it can solve the problem of the RPMs going up and down at idle if you have this problem or if you have some surging after the install which both are kinda common problems.
I'd get a to squeeze as much HP as possible out of the cams and to make sure these problems don't show up.
Also... some tuners are not aware the RPMs going up and down is not normal.
That's how common it is. It will not hurt the car but can be VERY annoying.
I went through two online tuners that could not fix it and went to one dyno tuner that could not fix it. Finally found one that could and he did it in five minutes.
If you are or ever go to Texas give me a shout and I can tell you where to go.
If you have any more questions you can PM me.
I've built experience on cams.
Also.. consider getting some long tubes to maximize HP with the cams.
Also if you have not got a set of 3.73 or 4.10 gears I would also do this to help.
I suggest 4.10's.
And ONLY get the Ford Racing gears. Ford Racing sells both motive and Ford Racing brands. Make sure your gears do not end with an M at the end of the product number. Those are the motive gears. They are not built as well and have had issues with gear whine. Also get a install kit that INCLUDES new bearings. No matter what your mileage is. Old bearings are notorious for causing gear whine as well.
Edit: saw you got a canned tune. If you have problems with the RPMS I'd get a dyno tune.
Enjoy the cams! They were our favorite mod in our 06GT!
