Failed NJ Inpection Because of Re Learn?
Brought the car in for its first state inspection today,(2006 GT), and wound up failing for OBD System- Readiness Status. I replaced the battery yesterday, and drove the car 50 miles after changing the battery. I figured the 50 miles was enough for a re learn, even though the owner's manual says 10 miles. The inspector said thats why the car failed, it didn't go through re learn yet, to drive it more then come back. I do have a tune, do you think the tune has anything to do with it? After I changed the battery, I did re flash my tune, I have 2 in my SCT device. Thanks for any replies!

Usually, a tune will fail inspection for O2 sensors not ready or something like that, in which case you can get an inspection-friendly tune. Not sure if the OBD readiness thing is just waiting on the relearn or tune related.

Here we go again. A search on the subject will result in a thread or two.
You didnt post up enough details of the inspection failure to ascertain the corrective action needed. Catalyst and O2 not ready is usually a tune issue. Evap not ready is drive-cylce related (takes 2 cycles to get it ready, 6 hours apart).

Well, I passed inspection yesterday. I was a tune issue. I talked to the tune writer, they said it had to be updated, they have to turn some things in the tune that was off, back on, but at a nice cost. I declined, and remembered I kept my old Ford Racing Pro Cal tune, which is 50 state emission legal. Swapped out tunes along with the stock inlet elbow, and passed no problem, and at no extra cost!
