Default selecting a new cam.

Hello everyone, my mustang currently has a 62mm TB, JLT CAI, Bassani cat back exhaust, steeda underdrive pulleys. trouble is im the second owner and have no clue as to what kind of HP its pushing...So i dont know where im at, however i know where i want to be. Id like to be at 350rwhp and do it NA. So I figured a new cam would give me the best bang for the buck.
However I dont want it to be obvious that I have a aftermarket cam, want it to sound as stock as possible. I would like some recommendations from the good folks here. Thank you all

It's going to take a little more than a NSR cam with what you already have to get to 350rwhp. I was hoping for 350rwhp too (part of my problem is likely the 6000' of elevation I live at though). You might get there with off-road long-tube headers and a cam that requires new valve springs and/or phaser lockouts, but driveability will suffer. All the power will be at the top of the RPM range. Lower your expectations to 315-330rwhp and there are lots of NSR cam choices that will get you there. If you want big power NA, save your pennies and build the motor with higher compression. It can be done for less than the cost of many of the supercharger kits, but you still won't make as much horsepower.

As far as sound goes, stay away from the Hot Rods, Thumpers, and Detroit Rockers if you want stock sound. I'm running the comp stage II NSR, and the change in idle over stock is barely noticable.

350 whp is a little high for those mods on factory heads just like breatheright said. i had intake, tb, and full exhaust with the hot rod cams and made 328 rwhp on a 93 tune. they sounded awesome but you can definitely tell that they're aftermarket. my friend had comp cams in his mustang and they were a little less lopey, but they put down some descent numbers too.

If you want 350 rwhp, forget cams and just add a blower.
