Bama e-mailed today and said it looks like one of the cams is out of time. Would any of you trust the numbers enough to go back inside the engine. He said it was in no way a mechanical diagnosis, but I almost have no choice but to follow up on his lead or they will cease to help (My words not theirs) But I don't think I have a choice.... What is the fastest, easiest way to check the timing and alignment of the cams.

Oh, and the coils were added after the cams and after the issues were noticed. I thought I had an issue with them is why I changed it, I actually read on here they were good ones, so I guess it depends on who talk to about them, But since you guys are helping me and agree they suck more so than oem I will listen to you guys.. I will keep everyone updated on what I have to do but give me those quick tips before you wait for a reply, thanks again fellas. Apparently my car was happiest stock

no, but if i was able to look at another vehicles data log and it
showed the numbers for bank 1 and bank 2 stay in step,
it would tip the scales toward having to retime the motor.

I bet the front cover could come off pretty easy and te tech could double check. Take your numbers to the dealer and ask them.

Well I am taking it for the tech to look at today hopefully he finds something wrong with the install so it doesn't cost me more money. He admitted he is human and could have made a mistake but since I am getting 0 codes and it runs fine on the stock tune it just doesn't make since for the timing to be off on one side, I do think I will be feeling like Charlie Sheen later today though "WINNING"!

So I dropped it off at FORD and I got good and bad news the cams are perfect (good news). Which is also the bad news. The tech said since everything runs good on the stock tune that is most likely the tune. So I'm screwed out of another 800 dollars to get my timing double checked. So I guess I'm just screwed no one can figure it out. So in all reality my cam install cost me over 2200 dollars. Any additional info will be taken. Thanks fellas. Just to clear this up I am not upset with ford they are just doing what I ask them. Bama has been very helpful as well so no complaints with either I must have a special car that is different from most may have to just call that sct programmer and tunes for life a loss and go with ford racing to program my computer.

i would consider purchasing a tune from brenspeed, i use a
brenspeed tune in the winter, then switch to my own tune
in spring.

what numbers are those? 02 sensor? I would have just taken it to a dyno tuner myself.

I'm guessing those are something from the cam position sensors?

Those numbers are from long term fuel trim.

I have read a million good things about bama, and since that's my only mod worth mentioning I didn't want to spend the extra money on a dyno tune. But I could have bought a dyno tune, CAI,and a good start on lt's with the off road x

I am with Hammeron, get a Brenspeed tune. Call them up and talk with them. Tell them whats going on before you spend the cash to get the motor re timed.
