Whats needed for clutch swap?
Well on sunday night driving home from work I lost pretty much my whole clutch. It is a bitch to get into gear and you can smell it burning. Thing that seems odd is this kinda snuck up on me. I had a few rough shifts throught the month but didnt think it would go this fast. Any ways this is what im looking at getting http://www.americanmuscle.com/exedy-...ch-0510gt.html was curious if this is everything needed to do it. My mechanic told me to buy the parts and he would do the install and resurfacing for me. If you guys who know more about this could let me know that would be great. Im stuck driving my dads 2500 duramax and 4.15 a gallon for diesel isnt to exciting.

First off, I've heard mixed reviews on Exedy. Second - you just need that and I'm not sure if its REQUIRED with this one, but usually a new flywheel.
Also - if you're going to do a short shifter, do it now.

Did you happen to see any fluid? I had a similar issue but I completely lost the pedal after the burning smell. After nursing it to the side of the interstate I noticed the fluid everywhere. When I got it apart I saw that the plastic slave cylinder/throwout bearing assembly had literally cracked in half.

Needed for clutch swap:
New clutch. I recommend McLeod RST or RXT
New or resurfaced flywheel. I recommend you replace it while the tranny is down. Again, I recommend McLeod. Resurfacing is fine if your old flywheel is in good shape.
New pilot bearing. FORD OEM ONLY.
New slave cylinder. FORD OEM ONLY.
If you're doing this job yourself... Good luck.
If you're paying to have it done, tell your mechanic, "Good luck."

I would get a new Exedy flywheel or whatever clutch manufacturer you choose. If there are any hotspots on your flywheel, then do not reuse it. You can't get hotspots out by resurfacing, well you could, but odds are you won't.

I reused mine this last time, 19k miles on it. I sure hope I don't jinx myself by posting that!
Tell your mechanic to turn the transmission 45 degrees to the left after it's unbolted. It makes removal much easier.
The picture of the pilot bearing in the Exedy clutch package sure looks like the cheap junk that came with my spec stage 3+. If it doesn't feel like a solid chunk of steel, then don't use it.
