Help what is this noise. I Want to buy this car. 05 gt, and videos
 

So there is this red 05 gt with a sun roof. Problem is it has 170k miles. And a noise, coming from the passenger side cam sprocket. Only reason I am thinking about it, sunroof. It's going for $8k. I'm going to offer $7k.

Sounds pretty nasty. I'd pull the valve cover before I offered anything.

Sounds like a freaking rod knocking! Did he rev it up? I've offer 5k with the intent of finding a used engine for $2k.

Yeah, I'd pass unless you can get it cheap enough to cover the cost of a tear-down or replacement engine.

just make the exhaust louder.
then you wont hear the rod knocking.

So I bought the car for $7500! FYI It sounds way worse in the video. Between me and my dad we figured out it is just valve rocker/lifter sound. It sounds like its coming from the second piston back not the dreaded timing phaser issue or rod knock. It does go away when it is rev-ed. Just needs some tlc. Well a lot of tlc. I am a pretty ok backyard mechanic. My dad is a great mechanic, and is even a certified aircraft mechanic. I will have to rebuilt it at somepoint. Which will be annoying but I got a affordable GT. I figure you guys would know mustangs better than me or my dad, he is a vette owner.

Be sure to take the valve covers off and check for interior damage/scratches. Also, when it's off hand crank to see if the problem is visible with just the cover off. Then use this an excuse to upgrade damaged parts. :)

could that noise be fuel injector? because my noise/tick sounds very very close to this one.
