Default No cold air in my 08 GT.....Help!

Im going on a road trip to the south next week and I have no cold air. A gauge says I have plenty of freon. Since I live in Ohio the AC is not used a whole lot. I checked the AC blend door actuator......it is working fine.
When I first turn the air on I get a one second blast cooler air (not cold) then it goes to warm.
What should I check?
Thanx for any info!

I'm certainly no HVAC expuuuurt, but compressor? I'd check to see that it's actually kicking on, ie. Fuses.

This is the service manual for diagnosing it, I'd just go through the basic ones first, likely you don't need to check the more advanced things unless just verifying the others that can be done with a basic multi-meter and the like don't pan out:http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=332&viewfil...l%20System.pdf

The compressor is kicking on. I checked the fuses that I could visually check. What will I need to check the fuses that I cant look at to see if they are good?

Just a basic multi-meter like >$40 at radio shack, or home depot will usually do. Set to check continuity (will beep a set high pitch tone to indicate a short condition, in which case it's good) is the best method IMO. Visual inspection a decent percentage of the time will not see the break in the fuse.

However, since you know it's coming on, that isn't it anyhow..At least not for the compressor.

turn the AC on max with the windows open. Look at the compressor, is it kicking on and off every cuople of seconds? If so, then you need to charge it. If it doesn't kick on at all, it should when you turn it on, then you need to check the compressor switch and fuses.

The same thing happened in my two Thunderbirds ('95 & '96). The A/C pressure cycling switch went bad. They are easy to replace, and are relatively inexpensive.

At least, that's what was wrong with mine; something to check out, though.

Good luck!

Does it cycle on and off quickly? It should not if you do indeed have a full charge.

Where is the pressure cycling switch located? The switch is not expensive so that sounds like a good starting point to find my problem.

It should be right on the accumulator. It's a bit dark for pics...so, should look like this:

Specifically:

And overall wiring diagram for climate control
