Start out in second because it's doable and the Bassanis get really loud really fast in first so a lot of random people will act like they think I'm trying to race them.

Mayo it's on but I haven't had time to get a video. Hope to by next Saturday (end of the semester).

I will say it sounds ridiculously loud and unbelievably raw. It's quiet at idle and sounds mean at under 40% throttle. Over that and parents hide their children and small pets.

Did not read entire thread. Did not need to.
4.10's ALL THE WAY. You will notice the difference a lot more and gas mileage is a non issue.

I have 490 rwhp and 430 ft lbs in a convertible with a 5speed and the stock 3.55's.

But the car is heavy and even with all the power on hand it feels sluggish in second gear below 3000rpms. And you can't downshift to 1st because its useless.

I am thinking 4.10's, but only if I get the new 6speed magnum.

First gear is almost useless with 3.55's from a dead stio, but second is too big of a drop-off in my opinion.

The new tranny I am looking at has a 2.92 first gear. So 4.10's would be ok, but second is where the gains will be seen.

In your case. I would just go 4.10's.

How often do you go over 120mph?

It will make it feel like a different car.

Oh. And Roush is only putting 4.10's in their cars now.

Just tried my new 4.10's at the track last night and all I can say is WOW!!! If I could ever get traction I might get a good run. I used to be able to launch from 3500rpm but now even from 1500rpm all it does is spin through first and most of the way through second gear, not to mention now I have terrible wheel hop that wasn't there before.

Even with that, I find the car drives way better on the street with the 4.10's over my old 3.55's and would not trade them back again. Now for some more mods to make the new issues go away!!

I went from 3.55 to 4.10 on my 06 GT and love it. It is a DD and not that much difference on the highway. That is my 2 cents.

I miss my 3.55's! 2nd and 3rd gears were so much more fun with 3.55. One of these days I'm going to buy a dial indicator and swap back to my stock gears. it doesn't look that hard.

Keep your 3.31's and add another 300hp instead!

I run low 11s at around 120mph on 3.55s... Find the right gear for your application.

Earl

I can vouch for the bolded statement. I like it though. With my KDW's on a warm street the car dead hooks in 1st and rockets 1-2-3.. I can even power brake it and it will just chirp and take off. It's the fastest 320-330 bhp I have ever "felt".. that's for sure. I give all the credit to 4.10s.

When it's cold outside and I go WOT it in drive, it will (sometimes) hook first, then spin 2nd and shift into 3rd immediately, catch traction and downshift back to 2nd.. it's humorous.

Manually shifting though, it's a blast. I have a video somewhere of me hooking in 1st and when I hit 2nd smoke pours from the rears

TEAM FO TENS!
