Default 2010 GT "ticking" sound

I just bought my 2010 a few days ago. I'm curious on two things.

1) When I first start it after its been sitting, I get blue smoke (oil burning I assume). I can only think its oil leaking down through the lifters/valves? Is this somewhat common? I had a 2007 GT and I sorta remember my 07 doing it too sometimes.

2) I'm hearing ticking at idle all the time. It doesn't go away. Its just a constant drone.... tick.tick.tick.tick.. about 2 ticks/sec. Lifters? FI? Is this normal?

If I have a bad lifter (#2), would that cause #1?

Not sure if these will help... just sounds very "noisy" to me.

Thanks!

1) The S197 4.6 is notorious for a puff of smoke if it's been started after a short start/stop. I'll back her out of the garage to wash her and when I start it a few hours later to pull her backj in, she'll puff. It only happens on those types of situations with many of the 4.6's.

2) There's a TSB for noisey fuel injectors which will tick pretty loud. Not much you can do about it, if that's what yours is.

I have an appt for tomorrow (5/12/2012) to have the 'ticking' checked out. Hopefully they'll have something in the TSB that includes a simple fix. I just hope they dont come back with "that's an acceptable noise". There's nothing like opening your hood for a friend and all you can hear is all that rattling and ticking.

Iknow I'm late to the party, but you don't have the vids of the noise still? I'm getting a noise from my 2010 GT and I'm thinking it's the same noise as you hade, just duobblec
