Default Clicking from driveshaft? Center slip joint?

Has anybody had this problem? The car in question is an 07 GT manual . About 2500 miles ago the drive really started making a clicking noise, kind of like a bad cv joint. I jacked up the car and sat the rear axle on stands and ran it to about 30 mph in 5th. The sound is without a doubt coming from the rubber boot and appears to the have ruptured from the inside out. About a year ago (5k miles back) I heard very faint clicking but thought nothing of it. I still have extended warranty on it but the service writer at the stealership said it might not be covered if evidence of hard use is found. What? How can you see that from looking at the car. It is lowered with the right parts, and has exhaust, but that not indicative of hard driving.
90% of the mileage on the is from the highway ,driving back and fourth from my duty station.
I have done some spirited driving (twisty's) but no 10million rpm clutch drops.I need help?

P.S. I plan on getting a one piece driveshaft to save me the hassle of going to the stealership!

If you plan on getting a one piece DS, just do it now. If you want to put a used stocker on there, I imagine you could find one quite easily.

Universal joints make a clicking noise when they dry out & first start failing.
A center bearing could also do that.

Why the hell did Ford go with a 2-piece driveshaft? Best bet is to replace it with a one piece. I can't recommend a brand as the one I have is no longer made.

I was thinking of shaftmasters. Its hard to get the jack $ with school and being a Vet that they wont get give a job. Life sucks for me.

I have a 2005 doing the exact same thing after 70k street miles and 6 road racing weekend events. I have contacted the dealer as well and they dont show it has a separate part, only with a replacement 2 piece driveshaft. Looks like the alternative is the $749 one piece shaft. Best of luck.

Reliability, higher critical RPM, wider tolerances for balance. So, it was cheaper out the door and cheaper in maintenance.
