Default New Radio suggestions ?

Hey guys, I have an 06' GT with the shaker1000 system. I need a new stereo unit or radio (which ever you prefer) because there is no auxiliary and I really bugs me. Although I have looked into the PIE module for the back of the shaker unit, I do not want it.

I'm looking for one thats touchscreen with a USB and AUX input. Also, I'd want to be able to control the music from my iPod, not the radio. Any have a good model or any suggestions? I'm really bad with radios and all that lol.

Best bet is to just hit up a local audio store. There are a lot of aftermarket radios and brands and sooo many different feature options.

You may want to consider the radio iPod control feature if your state has a law against texting (or is this country wide now? I can't remember). They could still hassle you over the iPod being mistaken for a phone. Just a thought.

But some good units you could check around for are Pioneer, Kenwood and Alpine, those are the main ones I see in cars.

I was thinking of that but the shops in my neighborhood probably aren't going to help me unless I buy it from them. My neighborhood is full of one way idiots lol. I'd rather ask around and see what people think first and do that afterwards. I went to best buy and they had older models and very few.

I actually use my iPod nano though lol so there's no mistaking a phone there unless the cop is also one of these idiots.

I just put a Pioneer AVIC-X940BT into my 06 and it is an incredible unit. Does everything I wanted, ipod hook ups, gps, bluetooth, Android apps available. It is a bit on the pricey side but was worth the money IMO. Makes the speakers sound 10 times better as well(mine was the shaker500)

Whatever you decide, I suggest going with a double din unit. It is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye because it fills the entire space in your dash giving it a more stock but updated look. I have a Clarion NX 501.

The new app radio 2 works great with iPods. I have an iPhone and absolutely love the thing.

Does this one not have bugs? I know my friend sold a couple in his audio shop and all of them had some kind of issue. The first gens that is.

Yes, the second gen is near perfect. This only issues I know of are with droids. You can look around at the reviews for it most I've seen is a 4 star rating. Looks great with the interior too.
