Default SVT Rear End

Hello gentlemen. Been looking at the Ford Racing 8.8" Boss 302 Rear Axle Assembly for my 07 GT for some time now. Can't find a dang thing on how much torque and horsepower it can handle.... Only info I come up with is where to buy it. Anyone have some info or direct me to a past thread??

I spent many hours of research on this. If you are not running slicks, I doubt you will damage it. The differential just has carbon cluthc packs. Same axles. Heavier pinion bearing.

That being said, I ended up getting Superior Chrome-moly axles, new Fprd Racing gears, install kit for GT500 (heavier pinion bearing) and a Wave-Trac differential. Came out to about $1750 for parts and $500 to install. Should be bullet proof.

Thats a pretty nice setup you got there. Ive only heard good things from people using the Wave Trac diff. I think I might be better off piecing things together like you did.

I thought about just replacing the entire rear end with that piece but the stock diff just doesnt cut it at the track over time. I went with a truetrac. My clutch discs were toast and was getting the one tire fire.

I picked up a GT500 takeoff rear end, replaced the gears, and have been running it for about 5 years now. Just rebuilt the clutch packs as i was getting too much no-spin on left rear during burnouts. It's handled the 500 rwhp easily.
