Do you know where exactly the bad ground was? I definitely need to take a look at that. If something like this happened with me out of warranty it would probably **** me off to the point of fixing it and selling the car immediately afterwards.
Yeah its the connector on the wiring harness side. I'll try and get a pic of my old connector to show you. This connector plugs into the resistor that is in the fan shroud.
2009 GT -stock 3.31's started whining at around 16k, tasca replaced - whined, tasca replaced-whined, tasca replaced-quiet. Strut mounts knocking @15k. Ball Joints at 25k. Hood seam and door skin bubbles at 25k.
08 gt 59k, had since new. cat converter and slave cylinder (leaking) under warranty, alternator (2 stereo amps..), replaced lca's with J&Ms when a stock bushing wore out. replaced brakes at 50k. replaced smooth driver's side idler pulley this afternoon due to whine.

I want to say the ground wire was the bottom left. Either way you can see it arched pretty bad and caused the fan to no longer run.
Judging by the size of the wires going to the fan, it's a pretty high-current circuit, and its connectors will tend to run a little warm anyway. Arcing could easily be a combination of vibration and heat effects.
