Default Carbureted S197?

Hey guys,

simple question. I want to know if I can replace my fuel injected plenum with a carbureted system. I've looked over the net and asked the car guys at work but no one seems to know. I've seen one guy put a 460 in his with dual holleys but I want to do it with the stock 289.

let me know if anyone know's of a part of has some ideas =)

thanks!

Mike

You old school guys make me laugh.
But I doubt there's any reason it can't be done, I've seen a plenum for the 4.6L that had a carb mounting position in the middle in just the last couple of days, but I have no idea where it was. also, you'd have cut a hole in the firewall for a throttle cable, probably make some fuel system changes probably have to go to an aftermarket computer... and end up losing power throughout most of the RPM range.
Oh, and it's a 281, not a 289.

Not if the car doesn't sit.

OP, look at Sullivan Performance. They used to make an intake for the 4.6 2 valves...
Maybe they'll something available for the 3V.
Sean Hyland is another place to look into.

Nothing wrong with a pushrod but I'd go 408 at least (out of a 351W block), make it count!!

I've had both, and I much prefer fuel injection. I don't want to go back to carburetors or points & condensers.
