Trans. Fluid. Should I just pay?
Approaching 45K miles on my GT and I'm wanting to change my transmission fluid. I've never done this before though it seems very straight-forward thanks to the tutorial on here. Though, after reading a few posts lately, I'm not sure I just want to drain/replace the fluid. Part of me wants to have it flushed. I'm hearing some tranny noise that I want to make sure isn't due to some contaminants. There is an express oil change down the road that I trust. (The owner used to own an 07 CS) and they offer this on their website:

Just take it over there?

It's a very hard to describe noise. This sounds ridiculous, but imagine the sound of dry rice being poured into a metal pot. Very very odd noise that in acceleration as well as when the engine is braking from a high rpm. I removed the shift boot and the noise was much more prominent. I had a co-worker ride along with me and he said he has a similar noise from his C5 vette and its nothing to lose sleep over? (Stock shifter by the way)

Not sure if yours is an auto or manual but the auto fluid swap is slightly a hassle being that the car needs to be level and lying on your back pumping the oil into the pan is somewhat a PITA............. but well worth saving the $100+ my dealer would charge. I change mine once a year since I race so much. After adding a dipstick, now its a breeze as you can pour the oil into it via the dipstick tube.

808, It is a manual.
I've read the How To on this and it doesn't seem that bad. My only two questions are 1) Does the car need to be level or can I just lift the front and 2) If I use the method of refilling from inside the car, does anyone have pics showing exactly what I should be looking for once I get the rubber boot off?

It is pretty easy...just pop the boot and run the hose down and back...get under the car and you will see the hose...just run it forward and into the fill hole...I like to have mine on the level to make sure that no old fluid is trapped in the back and filling is to the proper level...
