FRPP or Delete Plates w/ Vortech S/C
Looking for any info out there, if anyone has installed either of these with a Vortech or Paxton Supercharger. I'm sure removing the CMRC plates with the butterflies will gain something, just not sure if its worth the $250 for the plates or more for the manifold. I'm leaning toward the plates, since I believe I can keep the strut brace, and also I've heard the FRPP manifold interferes with the Vortech thermostat spacer. Any info, or dyno #'s would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome fellow mass member, what area you from!?
First off, unless you want the billet, you can usually pick up a set of plates for ~$70, and the install takes maybe 45min. Although you do need an update to your tune as well.
I'd go for the plates 1st! Try and find a used set, and if not you can get them new for $140ish

Nice, I'm from the northeast/north boston area.
Here are some steeda's @ $140:

What you are seeing are the billet plates. They are a bit more shiney (not like you can notice really) and maybe save a pound or 2:

Get the economy ones, they work fine!
There are home-made ones out there, thats what I've been using for the past 3 years with no issues.

The FRPP can be trimmed to work with the Paxton and would be your best bet. You definitely want to get rid of the stock plates with FI. The butterfly's can get bent or even break off with the higher flow from FI.

I added the frpp intake this summer when I installed a paxton HO to my car. You do have to cut a small piece off the intake to make it fit around the thermostat, not a big deal though. Ive heard the frpp loses a little torque on the low end, if it does I cant tell, my car pulls like a freight train..Also the frpp intake does fit with the boss 302 strut tower bar. I can post a cell phone pic/video if needed

With forced induction, the manifold will definitely open up the top end potential for power considerably over the delete plates. The low end may suffer a little, but not like it would on a N/A engine. IMO, the FRPP manifold also does a lot for the sex appeal of the engine bay.. If you're going to go big, you might as well make it look nice while you're at it.

retfr8flyr, that is a beast, looks great with the manifold. I'm def not looking to lose any low end, that's the one thing about the Paxton, it pulls like crazy after 4k, but down low, well.. So I pulled the intake off this weekend in preparation for replacing either the plates or the whole thing, I was surpised how much oil was in there. Guess it's time for a catch can too!
