Default cant bleed the brakes 05 GT

Ok, so I have a 05 mustang gt, and I cant bleed one set of brake callipers either the front or the back. I have replaced the master cylinder and the ABS unit too. I tried doing and my mechanic tried doing it. I couldn't get the front set to bleed and the mechanic couldn't get the back set to bleed. Basic it seems like if you get one set of callipers you cant get the other set to bleed.

Any ideas on this?

This may seems stupid but did you loosen the bleeder screw on the back of the caliper? You have to remove the cover and unscrew the bleeder a little.

If this fixes your issue, you need a new mechanic. I had zero problems while replacing all brakes and bleeding on my 2005 V6 and GT.

I am not a beginner when it comes to working on cars, what method of bleeding did you use? Pressure, vacuum, or the peddle?

I literally unscrewed the bleeder until it started dripping with the cap off the reservoir. Once I got a steady stream I tightened it. I did not use anything else and had no air in the lines. If it were not bleeding properly I would use the break pedal which I have done in the past.

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder before installation? This basically primes the master cylinder. Without this step, you'll never be able to properly bleed the system.

So let me get this straight, you replaced the master and the ABS unit and now you can't get brakes to bleed? If that's true it's because you need to go back to dealer, once ABS unit is removed the dealer needs to cycle the abs to bleed it out before you can bleed the calipers. If you don't want to go to dealer you need to find a mechanic with a computer that can engage the abs to bleed system. If you're mechanic did not know this I agree with the member here and get new mechanic.
