Default frpp 62mm throttle body

For those intalling this on a 2.3L whipple, you might want to open up the holes on the whipple elbow. There is a slight difference in the opening size of the throttle body and intake elbow.

I don't know if this would make any noticeable difference at part or wide open throttle, but it can't hurt.

I used a dremel to port the elbow. I took off a lot of aluminum, but it's still not quite perfect. It's hard to get the angle right in both pics, but you can get the idea. I ran out of sanding wheels, went through 4 of them.

Hope you had a vac running to get the shavings as they formed.

I placed duct tape on the inside of the hole I was porting and blocked off the other hole with cardboard. I didn't go all the way to the inside edge, i just wanted a smooth transition between intake elbow and throttle body. I vacuumed everything as I went.

LOl! Pbase.com does have some erotic photographs, it's what most serious photographers have used for years.

Drove to work today and the whistle sound is now gone. If you read some of the reviews on americanmuscle.com, others have reported a whistle sound when you step on the throttle. It also feels smoother at very low throttle. I think that lip was disrupting flow just enough at small throttle openings to cause problems.

There was always a slight lag with the frpp, but not now.

Now I'm wondering if the stock intake manifold openings are smaller than 62mm like the whipple and maybe the plastic intake will also cause a whistle sound because of the smaller diameter.

Could you measure the inside diameter? I just measured the stock intake manifold and it's at least 61mm. I don't have the proper equipment to get an accurate measurement. I'm eyeballing it with a tape measure.
