I love where the stock clutch is, but after a day of driving in stop and go Los Angeles traffic, I wouldn't mind a softer one that can still handle some good power. I as well as friends that have drove it have mentioned this in curiosity.

Thanks as always

I have a 2005 V6 and at 65K miles, my slave cylinder/throw out bearing went out. I could barely get my shifter to go into any gear. I had to jam the shifter every gear in order to get to the autoshop!

I had the whole clutch assembly replaced out, in exception of the master cylinder. I decided to go with an OEM clutch and surprisingly the clutch pedal felt totally different than the original. The clutch was a lot lighter and easier on the leg. The mechanic mentioned that ford customers were complaining about the stiffness of the clutch pedal in the earlier S197's and they redesigned the way the plate catches.
I am not sure if this will be the same for the GT's, but I wanted to relay.

Maybe they get stiffer as they get older or are wearing out?

I will have to go to Ford and also try to keep this thread alive and ask around! LoL

Perhaps, call Brenspeed and American Muscle tomorrow yep

It's not crazy hard, but with all the city traffic it seems to get annoying and hard on the ***** of your feet. I just feel like theirs gotta be a clutch out there(either new or aftermarket) that is a tad softer than this.

Thanks for your input Kev

McLeod RST (RXT if you plan on abusing it at the drag strip). I have the RXT. Lighter feel than stock and good for 500+rwhp 5k rpm clutch dumps on slicks and VHT. Is nice.

Awesome thanks again Diabolical! I'm making my mod list..time to add this one to the list! (Another one! Never ends LOL)

Could have just waited a year and drove that piece of sh*t 96 eclipse longer...saved money and bought a GT500. Although this modding is the ****! Fun and an educational thing as you learn

"What is VHT btw"?

Sticky like glue. A well prepped track lays the VHT on so thick that it could trap dogs like mouse traps catch mice.

No problem!
My original stock clutch was stiff from the beginning. It did not get worse over time, the slave cylinder/throw out bearing went completely out.
I know the feeling! On occassion, I've driven during Atlanta rush hour traffic with my old stiff clutch, my left leg and a$$ would go totally numb! LMAO
