Default Forged internals? Help

So my goal is to get my car to 600bhp with centrifugal boost, I was wondering where I could get forged internals and wich parts do I have to change, could I change pistons and rods and survive or do I also need the crank?

Pistons and rods are the main key components. But when it's apart, don't skimp, do it right, and swap the crank as well. Never know when you'll want MORE power.

Brenspeed and JDM have forged rotating kits I believe. AM might as well, but I've never looked.

modmax also has some good options for rotating assemblies.

Corrcet me if wrong here, the rotating assembly is basically a DIY forged engine yes? I mean, other than 0 miles on the engine, is there a difference between Brenspeeds stage 2 rotating assembly and a B326 or B302? Pardon the ignorance, it happens.

A rotating assembly is just that, Pistons, rods, crank that you would have a machine ship install in your block after it was machined. The B326, B302 are complete shortblocks that have had all the machine work done and are fully assembled. The cheapest way to go, for 600 hp, is just get a set of rods and pistons and use your stock crank. The stock crank is good for about 650 hp as long as you keep the RPM's below 6500. The stock crank is plenty strong it just doesn't have the extra balance throw, that the forged crank does, so it doesn't like high rpm.

If you find a local machine shop, that knows mod motors, you can get this combination built for under $2000.

Firstly, there is no cheap way of getting 600 HP from a 3 Valve or everyone would do it!

I have a similar goal and am currently assembling a new engine. I elected to go with a built forged short block for a couple of reason; firstly keep the OEM intact for a spare and secondly I was not aware of a local machine shop that had a solid reputation and experience with building a 3V. While this list of parts is specific to my build it will give you an idea of what is required. And yes of course do not forget the fuel system.

If i were to build a short block, I wouldn't have it at 9.8:1 for a boosted application. It's doable, but not normal for bossted applications. Generally the boosted motors are 9.0 or 8.5. Please correct if I'm wrong. They used to make to shortblocks, one for boosted, one for N/A.

Ya if you are building it for boost then you go lower compression so you can cram more boost in.

But if you go to low then it'll have to have FI or it'll be really weak. so lowering the compression a little instead of a lot makes sense for those not putting boost on right away.
