What failed on the stock motor? I know you said it was a bad tune, but what was bad? I've never heard of a stock motor failure with the frpp tune. somebody had a bad fpdm, so was only running on 1 pump and really lean, but still the motor didn't let go. It just didn't make good power.

I'll be honest, I do not know the exact details. The shop said they put it on the dyno and the A:F ratio was all over the place causing the engine to blow (I assumed they were talking about something w/ the internals). Luckily, Ford Racing stepped up and 2 day freight shipped a complete assembled engine (was initially worried it would merely be internals or short block, leaving the possibility that another aspect of the engine was torn up and would be discovered down the road).

What kind of power do you think I am making at the crank? I have seen a million different equations for it but do not know which one I should go with. I also have noticed how significantly lower numbers are on the Mustang Dyno compared to the Dynojet. I assume since the Mustang Dyno gives lower numbers it is probably more realistic. What do you guys think?

I'd guess over 500 at the crank, but a better way to calculate it would be weigh the car and take it to the track. You don't have to run a great time, just make a few runs, average you trap speed and calculate the hp. You can even factor in DA if you want.

Even with a not so good launch, your trap speeds should be pretty consistent.

What did that dyno run set you back? I'm just up the road in Cookeville and there isn't one in town.

Nice numbers btw

They threw in the dyno run for free since I was getting the supercharger installed. I believe they normally charge 100.00 for 3 runs. The place is great and the people that work there are very knowledgeable. Check them out http://www.knoxvilleperformance.com
