Help! My car still keeps overheating
I've replaced my cooling-fan, radiator and thermostat with all new parts.
The last time, i replaced the radiator, i drove the car for 2 days, everything was normal, it seemed like the issue was solved. The 3rd day, after leaving in the morning the car started overheating all the way after just 20min of driving (very slowly if i might add).
I've had the waterpump checked out and it seemed to be working fine.
Does anybody have any idea what else this might be related to?

Blown head gasket. If your fan is operating correctly and everything else in the system is working, then the only other thing that will cause it to over heat is a blown head gasket. You do have to burp the system by running the heater on full blast and sqeezing the upper radiator hose, or is it the lower, google it!

The fan shouldn't be running at all cold. Can you datalog the coolant temps/head temps? It would help to see what temp the computer things the coolant is at. You might have a bad head temp sensor.

The coil/resistor mounted on the fan shroud takes the hi/lo signal from the ECM and either gives it straight 12v (for hi) or a dropped-down voltage (for lo). In my case, the connector corroded (it is a piece of junk) and it would work fine on lo and then nothing on hi. For now, simplest fix might be to change the temp on/off settings in the tune for the lo to keep it going longer (to a higher temp) and see if that helps at all. Checkers has a fan replacement that also comes with the coil/resistor if that is bad, but if it is the connector you might have to hit the local pick-a-part.

After having replaced the radiator, coolingfan, thermostat and still having issues we later found the issue.
No idea how this happened but its fixed now .
Take a look at the pics

Someone else reported the exact same issue with the exact same cause found! I wonder if this is something that is going to become commonplace :-/
