Default Stock Tune

Just curious but how does this tune compare to the crap one for the SN95? I know they are different engines but is the 3v tune very mild or is it decent?

The stock tunes on the S197's are rather mild, assuming you compare them to what's available from Bama, Brenspeed, VMP and a few decent others. Even the '08 Bullitt has the FRPP tune which is still weak compared to the better aftermarket tunes. You can pick up about 20-25 RWHP (real life, not advertised) from a Brenspeed or Bama tune.

I was talking to the chief mechanic and Brenspeed's new install location and he was saying that the stock tunes run very wet. The benefit of that is that the cars can run any fuel quality in any weather and last a long time. He also mentioned that even the factory Roush tune ran fairly wet compared to a "Performance" tune. I love my Brenspeed tune and now that I live 10 minutes from their Dyno, it's only going to get better with a full dyno tune in the fall. Detroit Rockers, Boss exhaust, here I come.

Stock tune is so boring and soft. With a CAI and brenspeed tune my auto went from slushbox slug to neck snapping multiple gear chirping hot rod.

Video proof.

That's the answer I was looking for thanks.

The part about 20 rwhp gain, is that peak gain, or peak gain in the band?

The stock tune also has a lot of lag, WOT from a standstill and POT at approx. 3K rpm.

Gains advertised are usually peak. However, the only important numbers are under the curve and on the road

That's something I hate with this stock tune, I hate the throttle lag and the rev hang just pisses me off sometimes. From what I've read on here it seems that a tune + intake will fix the rev hang. What is POT?
