Default Anyone running UPR's K-member?

I'm about to pull the trigger on this:

http://site.uprproducts.com/info/201...moly-k-member/

I was just curious if anyone here is running it. If so, I'd like to know:

How do the motor mounts work? Do I just delete the motor mounts and bolt the engine directly to the new K-member? If so, fine with me. I love NVH, haha! Would like to know ahead of time though.

And here's a long shot. Does anyone know if it's compatible with the Flaming River manual rack? That's likely to be my next mod...

I put a pm in to Sharad. If he gets back to me first I'll post the answers to those questions here. I'm just impatient, haha.

Manual steering! Good thing you're a big guy. I once lost steering on a 88 ford escort GT and it was a bitch to turn.

Switching to dedicated manual steering is a lot easier on the biceps than a car with power steering that goes out. I've driven both. On skinnies, you don't really miss the power steering much at all. Go fast or go home, right!

You do not use you're factory motor mounts. With the supplied hardware will be poly bushings that you'll use to mount the engine to the K-member. Honestly the NVH didn't increase much, mainly noticable on start up and idling with my cams. As for the steering rack I don't know, I can't bring myself to give up power steering even after deleting AC

Sounds good. Pulling the trigger tomorrow. Sounds like the manual rack will be no problem.

A/C delete is still on my list, but not soon.

Is this designed to fix the slop/flex between the engine and transmission, in turn fixing the shift issues?

I guess that would make sense, but I'd delete the A/C first.

I just can't bring myself to do it. I know I should, but I still bring the car to shows from time to time and if it's less than 20 miles I drive it. In southeast Louisiana, you might find me dead on side of the road with no A/C, lol.

It's primarily designed for weight savings as I understand it, but cleaning up the shift-slop is a nice side effect. I just placed my order, so I'll let you know how much tighter it feels after I get it installed.
