Borla Drone Eliminated
I notice on the Borla website they claim no drone from exhaust systems for the 5.0 Mustang. I have 2006 GT and am thinking of purchasing Borla S-type axlebacks. Many older threads refer to drone from these mufflers. Does anybody know if Borla has engineered the drone out of the exhaust for the 4.6?

The drone is the best part of my exhaust sound. After a long drive back from the track and cruising about 60 mph home, that drone is music, sweet music.
I really like freeway underpasses for that drone echo and really wished we had more tunnels in my town.

on the same topic as mid mounted muffler and drone, do high flow cats help with drone at all over O/R in a midpipe? not trying to hijack the thread just curious if they have the same sort of affect as mid mufflers

i have high flow cats from bbk on my car along with borlas atak cat back and i still get drone at about 1800-2100rpm, thats in 5th gear crusing around 70mph or so. Its loud, but who cares. either listen to it or turn the radio up. Id rather have that than have a car with no muscle sound or tone to it.

For fun I switched to stock mufflers last week. With longtubes, off road x-pipe, it had ZERO drone. That setup actually sounds awesome and as close to the 2v sound as a 3v can get IMO. That hollow pipe sort of sound everyone loves on the 2v.
