91 Octane Race tune Questions
I went ahead and ordered the JLT Series 3 (110mm) Intake, with the BAMA Tuner. I have the 91 Octane Street, Performance, and Race Tune when I ordered it.
When I install it, I just plan on running the 91 Race.
What is my redline set to, if the factory was 6,250?
If it is increased, is it set safe to redline to the new redline?
Also, if I install a catback exhaust, will I need to have it retuned?

lol well if they set it then it must be safe, but that's damn high lol. I only have the 4.6L SOHC so if the 5.0's got DOHC and can reach that RPM, then idk if it's safe for this motor.

AM or any reputable tuner will never set the limits on the parameters higher than is safe for the car. They simply take up the slack in the conservative tune from the OEM. Where ford might set a limit to a safety margin of 10-20%. Aftermarket tuners will push those limits to 5-7%
AM also changes the fuel/spark table and other parameters so that their 5-7% is actually more reliable than the OEM's. It's not always perfect though and because you now have a tune that is to tighter specs, there's less room for slop meaning little things like a dirty air filter, dirty fuel filter, a really hot day, or timing that is just a smidge to high can cause problems.
That's where AM's awesome customer service comes in to help and get you taken care of!

Well, I dont have a 4.6 either the 3.7's are very rev happy motors anyway, Im sure AM/Bama wouldnt set the redline that high if the engine couldnt handle it.

You should be able to scroll thru the settings for any particular tune to see what it's set at. On my 4.6L, the factory setting is 6250. Brenspeed set it at 6800 but I reduced it to 6500 RPM. I bounce off it on occasion. No big deal.

So to answer my own question and anyone else who had the same question, the BAMA 91 Octane Race tune redline was set to 6,800. I bounced off of it third gear at 115-120 somewhere around there and it was ****in sweeeet! Exhaust pops and screams and going into fourth sounded so godlike. lol
