Default Hot rod cam help after install

Installed the cams over the weekend. Bama tunes for car. After installing everything and rotating engine by hand mult times to make sure everything was ok attempted to start car. At first when cranking car acted like it was flooding out and the garage smelled terribly like raw fuel. Attempted for approx 2 hours to start car. Finally started with holding foot on floor, ran extremely rough. Once it warmed up the car ran great, drove great, and idled like I would have hoped. Called bama next day and they said they had the wrong cold air tuned for it. Emailed me new tunes, downloaded new tunes and car still will not start. Any suggestions to what I should do now. Thanks

I know you said you rotated the engine and it was fine but is it possible the timing is off? Even one tooth will cause issues. Did you use a wedge or tool to hold it when you installed?

Used the hose trick, but I am afraid it slipped. Will the car run if the timing is off a tooth.

It does sound like it may have slipped =/

Double check all your injector/COP connections and other wiring.

It will run if the timing if off a tooth, but like hammered dog crap.

I don't trust the hose, hell my nerves were shot using the $90 wedge tool!

When I had it running, the one time, it was not throwing any codes or did not have a check engine light on. It ran fantastic, pulled hard, and idled smooth with that nice Lopey sound that I would have expected. I even turned the car off and it restarted multiple times in a row while warm. Next morning went out to start it and it would not. I wonder if it has something to do with the cold loop, if I am saying this right. Thanks

Does it consistently start and run when you crank it with the gas pedal held to the floor (clear flood mode)?

No. I have not been able to start it since that first night. I think I got lucky. When the car was warm it would start consistently. Put it away for the night and have not been able to get it to start since.

You may need to pull one of the spark plugs to see if they are soaked in gas..it sounds like it is flooded. I would try a different venders tune just to rule out that part of it.

Any help w checking the timing would be appreciated. If the scribe marks I made on the cam sprocket and chain line up along with the timing mark and chain link line up, is it still possible to be off on the crank sprocket
