The best way I can describe it is like driving an older car with a sticky throttle cable. A battery cable pull clears it up for a few hundred miles then it slowly comes back. I've cleaned and sealed and tested til I'm blue in the face. Changed anything and everything and spent money on parts that didn't fix it. And we are not alone. Do a Google search for S197 hesitation... hundreds off forum posts and most are left unanswered.
It definately seems to be a "learned" issue. Each time I clean the TB it goes away for a day or so. Pulling the TPS had it gone as well but it came back. I may try erasing the KAM when I get home tonight and see if that makes any difference in the AM.

What is KAM? I can also pull the fuel rail sensor and put it back and it will go away temporarily so I replaced it. It still came back though.

Edit: Never mind... KAM = Keep Alive Memory.

I used the SCT tuner to reset the KAM and the stumble is gone. So I'm pretty sure this is a learned issue. I'm going to drive it a couple days, if / when the stumble returns I will reset the KAM again and see if it goes away again. Anyone else have the ability to reset their KAM to see if the stumble goes away for a day or so?

I'll give it a try this afternoon.

How do you reset KAM with a SCT?

It's one of the functions not in the programmer mode section of the tuner. I'll plug mine in and see what it's called. It's doesn't say KAM in the tuner.

Did you get a chance to plug in your tuner and find out what KAM is called?

Thanks

It's in the special Features seciton. Just select Special features, its says on 2005 and newer cars turn on your key and press continue. I'm sorry< went out and plugged it in and could have sworn I posted this.
