Default FRPP Vs. Gt500 throttle

I want to upgrade my throttle with my manifold (car has cams, getting heads and planning a motor build). I se that the FRPP is 62mm for about 600 while the gt500 is half the price for 60mm. is it worth the extra money?

Typically, the stock TB on the GT is good for most mods and only with some serious internal work (bore n' stroke) or if you go FI will you need the additional airflow. With your LT's, manifold and cams the larger TB might help but I wouldn't count on anything significant.

The gt500 comes with a spacer... that funnels the air down to a smaller bore (I didn't measure it, I sent it back, the gt500 unit is physically to wide for the inlet on the whipple SC.

The FRPP 62mm is sick... it fits the stock GT size, very well made, costs a bit more, since its laser etched, but it is great... But, like Nuke said, unless FI or serious internal mods, not really a huge benefit... maybe a slightly better throttle response, but thats it.

Just stay away from BBK or anything else.. OEM, FRPP or Accufab (makes the FRPP)

Like the 2 above me said, you don't need to replace the TB unless you plan on going FI. I am running the FRPP TB, works great, looks even better.

I have owned them both and they both really feel about the same, However when I paired the frrp TB with the FRRP Intake manifold, it really made a difference 4000rpm and up!!
