Chirp during hard shifts?
 

I installed a new McLeod Rxt, with matching flywheel, slave and pilot bearing.The clutch definitely holds the power. It shudders a bit when bogging the engine (got to keep the rpm’s up), no issues with that.

But under hard shifting it makes a quick chirping noise when the clutch is fully released (which occurs when the clutch pedal is in the most upward position).

It’s not the tires. It’s definitely coming from a transmission/clutch component. I’ve read that it could be the pilot bearing making the noise. If it is the pilot bearing, what’s the issue? Not enough grease, too much grease, faulty pilot bearing etc.
Any suggestions?

How many miles have you had the RXT for? It does have a break-in period where it makes that sound while the ceramic gripping surface is worn down to where it evenly engages. I don't remember how many miles it was, but by the time I put 1000 miles on mine I didn't notice it anymore.

The clutch probably has around 4000miles on it so I am through the break-in period. It only happens when I'm launching or shifting hard. It just seems like something needs a little more grease, that's why I originally suspected the pilot bearing, maybe I didn't put enough of that Motorcraft PTFE stuff on the pp fingers.

The clutch still works well and engages fine (at high rpm's). Thought it's not the greatest for daily driving.
Other than the chirp, how smooth is the exedy mach 500?

mach 500 is smooth, slightly stiffer than stock pedal feel, grabs good. still has a little play, but much grabbier than OE. especially with FI

It's kind of a long shot but could it be belt chirp? The altnator pulley on the manual trans cars has a clutch in it. If that quit working, it could be that.
