2009 GT Shifter Noise/Click
Hello, new to the forums here! Just bought me a 2009 GT/CS, and lovin'
it so far!
But... there's a noise that I'm hearing coming from the shifter that I
didn't notice before. I bought the car last Wednesday, didn't hear it
until yesterday morning. It seems to only happen in the morning when
it's a bit cooler outside, but doesn't seem to go away as the car
warms up. It does seem to go away, however, when I drive it later in the day when it's warmer outside.
Anyway, I'll do my best to describe the noise. It has a manual
transmission, and as I'm shifting from first gear to second gear,
there's what I would describe as a pronounced click as the shifter is
being moved into second gear. Kinda feels/seems like something is being pushed out of the way as it's entering second gear and then
a click as it gets all the way into position.
This happens whether I'm moving or sitting still, and only on second
gear. It also only happens going straight to second from first. If I
shift down from third, it doesn't happen. If I double clutch it into
second from first, doesn't happen. It doesn't really sound like it's
coming from the transmission, sounds more like it's coming from
somewhere in the shifter but it's hard to tell.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something to be concerned
about? Any ideas on what it could be?
