Default 2007 Mustang GT Hurst short shifter lots of play

Recently purchased my 2007 GT that came with a hurst short throw shifter. Everything had been great for about 2 weeks. Now there is a ton of play in the linkage. I've never worked on a short throw kit before, but it looks to me that there is a bracket or something completely missing that would hold everything tight in place.
Pictures show a threaded bolt attached to nothing, and a threaded hole without a bolt.

First video is while in-gear and driving

You are missing the adjustable stop bolt

for the throw, yes. But there has to be a bracket of some sort missing. Did you watch the videos? That movement is crazy

If you go to the Hurst web page and look a a new shifter, yours looks pretty much the same to me with the exception of the adjuster bolt. Could be a broken bushing on the shifter rail or heaven forbid, something in the trans.

Figured out the issue. The back of the shifter wasn’t bolted down. Nuts must’ve backed off

That will do it. I'm surprised it worked at all. Thanks for letting us know. I would also install that limiter bolt while you are at it.
