Greetings, my first post, hope i’m in the right section. I searched for a while but couldn’t find a similar thread.

Im interested in modifying my stock ‘08 Bullitt hood for functional heat extraction, and was wondering if anyone created their own instead of buying a premade hood. I’d rather keep it aluminum, functional and retain maximum durability. I running a Department of Boost set up with low key aero mods (mostly under car).

I drive long distances with this car and not much of a daily driver at all. I consider it similar to a HI-PO 289 and realize it’s position of just a fun car, but do want to be as efficient on design and changes as possible. I considered cutting up a newer Mustang (12-13 dome) hood and incorporating the functional aspect of it into my hood. I’m from a performance motorcycle background where we made most things from scratch. Any related experience, pictures, failures/success, or attempts AND pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the reply. My interest is in a 12’-13’ hood would be to cut it up and potentially rig weld the functional aspect into the S197 hood. The other consideration is to design & sink fabbed Heat Extractors
into the hood. I’m not interested in off the shelf, not that they can’t be usable, but I’d prefer use aluminum.

into the hood. I just haven’t measured and done the math yet. I am inquiring as to if anyone else’s efforts on this same subject. I’m not interested in off-the-shelf, not that they are subpar, but I’d prefer use aluminum.
