Throttle Enhancement Devices
 

08 GT. Anyone try these? Just looking for better throttle response. And no, I am not taking apart the gas pedal and messing with the contacts :) TB was cleaned.

Marginal benefit if any from having been there. Good tune solves a lot of throttle response issues. PD blower solves all, but that's another story...

I wouldn't consider doing this. Above poster is right. A tune will help performance wise. IF it sounds to good to be true then it usually is. I guess if you read reviews on some of that stuff there are always people that will say yea it helped immensely but there are negatives. Among forum members its considered a waste of money

There is a known issue with the contacts in the drive-by-wire, at the pedal. There
are videos out there that show you how to clean them, but only if you're having
an issue.

They also sell a device you plug in between the harness and pedal, that sharpens
the throttle response. They are called Remus Responder, something or other, and
DO work, but it's artificial, kind of. It speeds up the movement of the throttle plate.
Your normal pedal depresses are sharply transmitted to the throttle, like you mashed
the pedal, but starts it much earlier. Also, you'll want to see where the plate is at WOT.
Some cars, even at WOT, the plate is not 100% horizontal. Some can also be
adjusted so it is.

TB spacers, crap, unless you can get one made of DELRIN. I had a 2000 Avenger ES, and
got the TB spacer, and a .5" space for the upper intake plenum to block, and it made a
big difference. DELRIN is an actual insulator, not another piece of metal that still
conducts heat. I have not seen anyone make anything out of Delrin since the early
2000s, and it has to be CNC/Waterjet machined. I even got a Delrin front motor mount
for the Avenger, and for s 2.5 V6, it launched well compared to a stock one...

If you've got a dead band at the beginning of pedal motion, throttle enhancement devices and tunes aren't going to fix that.

If it's not a dead band issue and you simply want more throttle happening from smaller amounts of pedal motion, that comes out of throttle resolution - the ability to easily make small throttle changes. This could add difficulty to driving at a steady speed and make driving in bad weather (rain, snow, sleet, etc.) more risky. I don't think I'd want too much throttle too soon on a dry road course track day either.

Kind of like having all 100% of throttle plate movement compressed into (say) 70% of pedal movement where the remaining pedal motion doesn't do anything.
