Default Whining during acceleration and shifting

I have a 2005 Mustang GT, I am new to owning a mustang of any kind, when I test drive the car I didn’t notice this whining but as soon as I drove it like 10 miles it’s started whining while I’m accelerating no matter how smooth or rough I accelerate. Is this normal? If not what could it be? Also kinda makes a different whining noise as I shift. Please help!!

Depends where the whining is coming from, and you did not specify...

You can GOOGLE that, when you find out where it's coming from. There are
many reasons a differential whines, so look it up. If it's a manual trans, and
the whining is coming from there, you can look that up too. This subject has
been covered lots of times, and I am not typing it in again and again....

The fact that I asked the question shows that I have not seen it covered. like I said I’ve never owned a mustang so I haven’t been on the forums before I’ve had the car 2 days I have googled it and it covers a wide range of things so I tried getting an answer from someone who might have had the same situation, I realize I was not as specific as I should have been like I hear it on the passenger side and it’s really loud in 1st and 2nd gear then quiets during 3rd.

So I guess before I aske another question on these forums I need to already have an answer from google or from another source or just go back and search through the topics and make sure nobody has asked the same question before... got it thanks for your help

Your lack of finding answers could be because YOU ARE IN THE WRONG SECTION!

This is for:
Forum Issues and Feedback Discuss any issues you are having with using Mustang Forums here.
So unless your problem is related somehow to how the forum itself loads then you aren't going to find answers to the whining noise in your car. This section won't help you. Search in the correct model year and you may find answers.

Moved to tech.

Does it still make that noise even in high rpms or low rpms in those two gears? How many miles are on the car?

It does make the noise in low and high rpms, in both gears. Like I can be in second gear just rolling through a parking lot without accelerating and it’s pretty whinny. It has 98,000 miles it runs strong just has that issue.

Did you lock the wife or girlfriend in the trunk?

I think he locked both of them and they're, well...whining!

OP: We can't help you until you pinpoint where the sound is coming from...
It could be the transmission, the differential or even the rear bearings.
If it's a constant whine, my guess is that it's probably the bearings.
