Default 05-07 GT with 08-09 heads

Hey ya'll!

Just a quick question...can a Mustang from 2005 up to 2007 have the heads of the 2008-2009 installed? Or would it require modifications?

Yes they can be swapped. The late 08-10 have the charge motion control part built-in (Where they are separate in 05-early 08).
Just note that it was during the 2008 model year the heads changed, so ealy ones had the samer heads of 05-07 and late ones had the 09-10 heads.

You're referring to the intake manifold.

Yeah, the build date for the later heads was from 11-30-2007. You can indeed swap those over onto any 4.6 3V built prior to that date and use the later style spark plugs that aren't break prone. You'd also need to add the later style coils.

Yeah, you're right, it was the intake manifold and not the heads had them built in.

Ah gotcha gotcha so the only thing to keep an eye out is the intake manifold. Other than that, the heads are swappable.

Nah, either manifold will work on either set of heads. It's the Spark Plugs and COIL on PLUG boots you need to be aware of.
